This is a Keen Kutter K3 Hand plane I inherited while cleaning out my parents house. Its been sitting in the basement for I don't know how long.
Charles has been a substantial voice in the Maker Movement since its inception sometime around 2007, and has worked as a team member on various open source projects and initiatives including the RepRap project, and helping to define what open source hardware truly means. While most of his work is in the DIY Microelectronics field, Charles also enjoys time in his woodworking shop, and teaching young makers about DIY electronics and programming. In 2009 he founded TheMakersWorkbench.com as a place to showcase his projects, and to help give his voice a permanent platform from which to be heard. After more than a decade of writing content about DIY Gaming PC’s and Consumer Electronics, Charles called it quits in 2014 and began writing full time for Element14.com as their lead IoT Blogger, which affords him the time to build and grow his mildly popular YouTube channel, The Makers Workbench.
Darryl Jones is passionate about making things, and is an experienced woodworker who dabbles in multiple maker mediums. His favorite projects are the ones that he has not done yet, and he loves to challenge himself. He has built a considerable amount of furniture, cabinets, and boxes over the years, and has recently found himself spending a good deal of time at the lathe. Most importantly, he likes sharing the craft of making almost as much as he likes participating in it. Darryl takes every opportunity to encourage others to cast aside their trepidations and get out and make something. Hence his tagline, “Dread knot and make something."
